The Kärsti is mixed-use congregate apartment building currently under construction in the Ballard HUB Urban Village. The project is scaled to negotiate a transition from single family houses to commercial and mixed-use buildings, taking a cue from the older brick buildings along that portion of 15th Ave NW.
A small corner retail space is flanked on both sides by common areas for residents, activating the pedestrian environment. The Kärsti will provide affordable units with large shared areas for gathering in community, all within a short walk to central Ballard. The project is a partnership with Hamilton Urban Partners and will be managed by Open Door.
